About the role
The Ship Management Assurance Officer provides independent assurance on commercial processes and documentation related to the marine transportation of LNG and hydrocarbon products. The role acts as a bridge between charterers, sellers and ship operators, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
Key responsibilities
- Review and audit charterer and seller commercial documentation for LNG and hydrocarbon shipments.
- Conduct lead audits of ship management practices, vetting, operations, terminal interactions and incident investigations.
- Develop and maintain assurance frameworks aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence compliance improvements.
- Prepare clear audit reports and present findings to senior management.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the marine industry, including vetting, operations, terminals or incident investigations.
- Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) or a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Studies or a related field.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.
Required skills
- Lead auditor certification (preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
