Software Engineer

About the role

The Group Securities, an investment organization in the finance industry licensed by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and a member of the Qatar Stock Exchange, is looking for a software engineer. The role focuses on developing new systems that improve business workflows and customer experience, and on improving existing systems and architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain applications across the full lifecycle (analysis, design, test, release and support)
• Write clean, scalable code and debug to optimise applications
• Take part in design, development, code review, test support, root cause analysis and deployment support
• Ensure applications meet company quality assurance standards and follow best practices

Required profile

• 4 years of Python, Java or C++ development experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience developing and deploying web applications
• Strong verbal and communication skills

Required skills

• Machine learning concepts, concurrency and design patterns
• Database design and SQL efficiency
• Software development methodology and OOP patterns
• Familiarity with Git and Linux; Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and PL/SQL are advantages
• Experience in financial markets, algorithmic trading or Python web frameworks (Flask, Django) is an advantage
