Spa Therapist / Receptionist

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a Spa Therapist/Receptionist for its property in West Bay, Doha, Qatar. The position is full time and non-management, combining massage and body treatments with reception duties and sales of spa and salon services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide massage services and body treatments (scrubs, wraps, hydrotherapy) using props and products, assessing guest needs and contraindications such as allergies, high blood pressure and pregnancy.
• Educate guests on current techniques and modalities, escort them to and from treatment rooms, and arrange workstations, rooms and drapes.
• Promote and sell spa and salon services, including retail offerings.
• Clean, maintain and sterilize tools, keep work areas tidy, dispose of waste and linens, and secure supplies at the end of each shift.
• Follow the time schedule, handle inappropriate guest behaviour according to Marriott's procedures, and report accidents and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Maintain current skills and licensure, follow company policies, keep a professional appearance and protect confidential information.
• Welcome guests warmly, anticipate their needs and thank them sincerely.

Required profile

• State or regional massage license or certification.
• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree and at least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift objects up to 10 pounds.
