Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon – Department of Orthopedics

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon to join our established Department of Orthopedics. The successful candidate will deliver expert surgical and non‑surgical care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, supporting the centre’s reputation for clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, tumors and congenital disorders.
• Perform orthopedic surgeries such as joint replacement (arthroplasty), arthroscopic procedures, trauma surgery, spine surgery (if specialized) and pediatric orthopedics (if specialized).
• Conduct thorough pre‑operative assessments, manage post‑operative care and oversee rehabilitation plans.
• Collaborate with radiologists, general practitioners and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic patient care.
• Adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics, hospital policies and Qatar Ministry of Public Health regulations.
• Participate in continuous professional development, clinical audits and medical education activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent) with a recognized residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Board certification and a valid medical license eligible for registration with the Department of Healthcare Professions.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board consultant experience (or 3 years for specialist level).
• At least 2 years of clinical practice within the GCC region is highly preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Arabic proficiency is desirable.
