Static Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Static Mechanical Engineer will provide high‑level technical expertise for the design, validation, and integrity management of all static equipment and piping systems in our manufacturing facility. The role focuses on ensuring plant reliability, supporting major turnarounds, and guaranteeing compliance with international design codes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings, and specifications for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and tanks.
• Generate and review P&IDs, material specifications, and material take‑offs in accordance with ASME, ANSI, and API standards.
• Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis, and manage modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Define technical scope and inspection/repair procedures for equipment during turnarounds and outages.
• Supervise on‑site repairs, ensuring field welding, PWHT, and NDT meet structural codes.
• Support Fitness‑for‑Service evaluations, remaining‑life assessments, and root‑cause analyses of static equipment failures.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and Risk‑Based Inspection workshops and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in static mechanical engineering within a plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of international codes (ASME, ANSI, API) and asset integrity practices.
• Ability to lead technical work during plant turnarounds and manage change processes.
• Excellent analytical skills for stress analysis, FFS evaluations, and root‑cause investigations.
