Steward – Hotel Kitchen Operations

About the role

The Steward supports kitchen and Food & Beverage operations by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation in back‑of‑house areas. Working closely with culinary teams, the role ensures all equipment, utensils and service items are clean, sanitised and ready for use.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery and other operating items.
• Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain hygiene in kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores and other back‑of‑house zones.
• Support timely delivery and collection of clean equipment for the Culinary and F&B teams.
• Store kitchen equipment and supplies correctly and safely.
• Assist with movement, handling of equipment, supplies and deliveries as needed.
• Follow cleaning schedules, handle chemicals safely and use appropriate PPE.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Stewarding Supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience in stewarding, kitchen operations or a similar hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Hard‑working, reliable and responsible attitude.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding setting.
• Physically fit, able to stand and move for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work as part of a multicultural team with good communication skills.
