About the role

The Data Center Subject Matter Expert – Power Systems will act as the technical authority for all electrical power infrastructure throughout design, construction, testing, commissioning, and hand‑over of data‑center projects. The role ensures mission‑critical power systems meet hyperscale client requirements, Tier III/Tier IV standards, and industry best practices for reliability and resilience.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on power architecture, topology, and redundancy models (N+1, 2N, 2N+1).
  • Review and approve Single Line Diagrams, schematics, load calculations, fault studies, protection coordination, UPS sizing and battery autonomy assessments.
  • Oversee installation and integration of HV/MV substations, transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, UPS systems, battery banks, diesel generators, busbar trunking, PDUs and remote power panels.
  • Validate dual‑power paths, concurrent maintainability and fault‑tolerant designs.
  • Monitor site execution, coordinate with contractors, vendors and QA/QC teams, and resolve technical issues.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, pre‑functional, functional and integrated systems testing, including power‑failure simulations.
  • Ensure all critical systems achieve performance requirements before project hand‑over.

Required profile

  • Proven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in data‑center electrical power systems.
  • Deep knowledge of hyperscale client standards, Uptime Institute Tier requirements, TIA‑942, IEC, NFPA and IEEE regulations.
  • Extensive experience in design validation, risk identification and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong background in overseeing construction, installation and commissioning of high‑voltage power infrastructure.

  • HV/MV substations (11 kV / 33 kV) design and integration.
  • Transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear.
  • Static and modular UPS systems, VRLA and Lithium‑Ion battery banks.
  • Diesel generators, fuel systems, busbar trunking systems.
  • Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Remote Power Panels.
  • Single Line Diagrams, electrical schematics, load calculations, fault and protection coordination studies.
  • UPS sizing, battery autonomy assessment, redundancy strategy design.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
