Systems Architect – Linux & Backup Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Systems Architect to lead the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise Linux and backup platforms across on‑premises, hybrid, and multi‑cloud environments. The role ensures high availability, security, compliance and long‑term data protection for our client in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage enterprise backup and archive solutions (Commvault) with defined retention, tiering and retrieval strategies.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, execute restore testing and support active‑active data centre environments.
• Integrate Linux and backup services with hybrid/cloud platforms, perform performance tuning, capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Enforce Red Hat Enterprise Linux security standards, encryption and immutability for backup data.
• Implement centralized monitoring, alerting, KPI dashboards and reporting across hybrid and cloud environments.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Linux and backup projects, provide technical guidance and maintain architecture documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application teams and act as technical interface with vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in enterprise Linux systems and backup architecture.
• Hands‑on expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Extensive experience with Commvault Backup, Recovery and Archive solutions.
• Mandatory Commvault Certification; preferred Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE or higher).
