Technical Support Specialist

About the role

The Technical Support Specialist will ensure the availability and reliability of critical systems at our Doha location. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve incidents, perform preventive maintenance, and drive continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine system maintenance, apply software fixes/updates, and conduct preventive tasks to meet availability requirements.
• Respond to incidents, execute break/fix activities, and restore equipment operation quickly.
• Participate in Problem Management, provide on‑site observations, and recommend process/tool improvements.
• Troubleshoot critical applications, Microsoft SQL Server, and perform basic database and disaster‑recovery tasks.
• Identify root‑cause analysis, resolve faults remotely and on‑site, and communicate proactively with the Service Delivery Manager.
• Provide early‑life support, train system users, and document solutions in the knowledge base and ticketing system.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics or related field.
• 3rd‑level support experience with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Basic understanding of ITIL v3/2011 and ITIL Foundation certification.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to build trusted relationships.

Required skills

• Microsoft SQL Server and basic SQL troubleshooting.
• Vision‑Box equipment installation and configuration.
• Operating system and software installation.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, routing and switching).
• Database administration basics (setup, backup/restore, queries).
• Hardware diagnostics and repair.
• Scripting / programming knowledge.
• Information security principles, PKI, and biometric technologies.
• ITSM tool usage.
