Technical Translator – English/Arabic

About the role

Egis is seeking a Senior Technical Translator to provide high‑quality oral and written translation between English and Arabic. The role supports a variety of technical, legal and scientific documents while leading a small team of translators.

Key responsibilities

• Translate written texts, manuals, forms and technical materials accurately between English and Arabic.
• Edit, proofread, standardize and finalize translations produced by others.
• Organise translated material according to company standards for clarity, style and terminology.
• Research legal, technical and scientific terminology relevant to assigned projects.
• Maintain and enrich an in‑house terminology database.
• Create writing instructions and reference manuals for the translation service team.
• Provide direction, training and coaching to junior translators.
• Prepare translation reports and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior translator or language lead.
• Strong command of both English and Arabic, with attention to nuance and tone.
• Ability to mentor and guide less‑senior translators.
• Commitment to confidentiality and data protection.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental standards relevant to the workplace.
