Trust Services Standards & Regulatory Specialist (eIDAS, ETSI)

About the role

The Trust Services Standards & Regulatory Specialist ensures that PKI‑based certification and trust‑service frameworks comply with national regulations and internationally recognised standards such as eIDAS and ETSI. The role supports regulatory supervision, licensing, conformity assessments and policy development for digital trust ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of eIDAS Regulation and apply its concepts (electronic signatures, seals, timestamps, registered delivery, website authentication, archiving) within PKI‑enabled trust models.
• Develop and sustain expertise in ETSI EN 319 series standards (general policy, certification authorities, qualified certificates, trusted time‑stamping, electronic registered delivery services) and support their interpretation in licensing and supervisory activities.
• Support conformity assessments, audits and ongoing supervision of Certification Service Providers (CSPs) and Trust Service Providers (TSPs), reviewing reports from Conformity Assessment Bodies.
• Assist regulatory decisions on qualification, compliance gaps, corrective actions, suspension or revocation of trust services.
• Monitor developments such as eIDAS 2.0, digital identity wallets and advanced PKI implementations, providing briefing notes, regulatory guidance and executive summaries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience with PKI, certification authorities and trust‑service compliance.
• Strong understanding of EU regulatory frameworks for electronic identification and trust services.
