Vessel Operations Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Vessel Operations Engineer to support offshore and onshore projects within the Operations Department. Reporting to the Project Operations Manager, you will provide technical and operational assistance throughout tendering, execution, and mobilisation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering documentation, suggest improvements and support planning and execution.
• Assist offshore and onshore teams with installation, diving, pre‑commissioning, trenching and hook‑up operations.
• Coordinate equipment, material logistics and cross‑functional teams to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Ensure QA/QC and HSE standards are met; participate in risk assessments and safety briefings.
• Supervise vessel mobilisation/demobilisation, load‑outs and critical offshore activities.
• Provide feedback and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Support the commercial team with technical input for proposals and contracts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering discipline).
• 5–7 years of experience in offshore oil & gas installations, including jackets, topsides, bridges and heavy‑lifting operations.
• Proficient English language skills.

Required skills

• Offshore oil and gas installation expertise (jackets, topsides, bridges, heavy lifting).
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Microsoft Project.
• Strong technical documentation and coordination abilities.
