Vice President, Infrastructure & Site Selection

About the role

The Vice President of Infrastructure & Site Selection leads the end‑to‑end site strategy and infrastructure enablement for Syntys’ hyperscale data‑center expansion across MENA markets. This senior position oversees land sourcing, technical due diligence, permitting and utility readiness to deliver build‑ready sites that meet hyperscaler requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive site planning, including greenfield identification, brownfield redevelopment and existing facility assessments.
• Coordinate with government bodies, utilities and telecom operators to secure pre‑approvals, grid connections and fiber access.
• Negotiate land acquisitions, joint‑venture structures or long‑term leases and maintain a proactive land bank.
• Align site strategy with hyperscaler location priorities, latency needs and expansion targets.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in site selection, infrastructure planning or land development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record engaging with government authorities, utilities, telecom operators and environmental agencies, preferably in the MENA region.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Architecture or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Expertise in technical and commercial site assessments covering zoning, environmental, access and infrastructure readiness.
• Strong knowledge of utility proximity, power and fiber availability, and regulatory processes.
• Experience developing infrastructure feasibility reports, cost models and design governance frameworks.
