About the role

The Art Teacher will join Durham School for Girls in Qatar, delivering high‑quality, engaging visual‑arts lessons that align with UK Teaching Standards, the school’s MARK values, and Qatari Ministry of Education expectations. The role supports student well‑being, inclusive learning, and the development of both artistic skills and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging art lessons that meet curriculum standards and assessment objectives.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans, individually or collaboratively, that respect DSGD/MARK and Qatari cultural values.
• Utilise technology and innovative tools to enhance student‑led learning and engagement.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work and progress.
• Continuously assess student learning to inform differentiated instruction.
• Report any curriculum or resource conflicts with school or cultural values to line management promptly.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment with clear behaviour expectations.
• Promote collaboration, respect, and appreciation of diverse perspectives among students.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience delivering art education in an international school setting.
• Commitment to upholding UK Teaching Standards and the school’s MARK values.
• Ability to align teaching practices with Qatari Ministry of Education policies and cultural expectations.
• Strong professional conduct, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and support student well‑being.
