Assistant Safety Officer

About the role

The Assistant Safety Officer supports the safety management of a Radisson hotel, ensuring fire and life safety standards are met daily. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and department heads to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure overall fire and life safety compliance with NFPA standards, local regulations, and hotel policies.
• Conduct daily inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions, fire hazards, and unsafe staff practices.
• Maintain and regularly inspect fire protection systems such as hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, alarms, and emergency devices.
• Perform periodic testing of fire safety equipment and emergency systems, keeping accurate maintenance logs.
• Verify serviceability of standby generators, emergency lighting, exits, and escape routes.
• Inspect electrical installations, wiring, heaters, and other potential fire hazards.
• Implement fire and safety measures for hotel events, functions, and special activities.
• Organise fire drills, safety meetings, and employee awareness training.
• Report unsafe conditions to relevant heads of department and follow up until resolved.
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.

Required profile

• Knowledge of NFPA fire safety standards and local safety regulations.
• Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and promptly address findings.
• Strong record‑keeping skills for maintenance logs and incident reports.
• Effective communication with department heads and engineering teams.
