Assistant Technician

About the role

The Assistant Technician supports the maintenance team in ensuring that building facilities, equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently. Working under senior technicians, you will help with inspections, repairs and troubleshooting across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with daily maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of building equipment and report faults.
• Support scheduled preventive‑maintenance activities.
• Help install, replace and service facility equipment and components.
• Respond to maintenance requests and breakdown calls as directed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas after tasks.
• Follow safety procedures, permits and company policies.
• Record completed work and communicate technical issues to supervisors.
• Provide assistance during emergency maintenance situations.

Required profile

• Technical certification in mechanical, electrical or related fields (preferred).
• Experience in GCC or hospitality facilities is an advantage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in various facility areas.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends or emergency calls when needed.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read simple technical drawings and equipment manuals.
