Automation Technician

About the role

We are looking for experienced Automation Technicians to join our maintenance team in the oil, gas, fertilizer and petrochemical sectors. The role involves performing routine, corrective, shutdown and commissioning activities on industrial automation and safety systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, corrective, shutdown and breakdown maintenance on Automation and Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Execute commissioning and startup activities for automation projects and system upgrades.
• Maintain Safety and Automation Systems (SAS) to support safe and efficient plant operations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, ensure required tools and safety equipment are available, and comply with all HSE policies.
• Carry out Industrial Control System (ICS) computer maintenance, including antivirus updates, security patches, OS configuration and basic troubleshooting.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of ICS upgrades and new projects while meeting cybersecurity requirements.
• Participate in on‑call duty to provide maintenance support outside normal working hours.
• Contribute to departmental KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Engineering Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Fertilizer industry.
• Experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Maintenance (EAM) Work Order module is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software maintenance, industrial networking fundamentals and industrial cyber‑security standards.
