Banquet Cook II

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Banquet Cook II to join our culinary team at a leading hotel in Doha. The role focuses on preparing high‑quality banquet and buffet dishes, ensuring presentation standards, and supporting smooth service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present plates and platters for banquet service, including carving meats on request.
• Set up, operate, and break down banquet action stations, managing ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix – following recipes and quality checklists.
• Cook hot and cold foods, test for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure proper portioning onto serving receptacles.
• Maintain stock levels, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment, and adhere to safety and sanitation policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in banquet or buffet kitchen operations.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, lifting up to 50 lb, and performing physical tasks such as bending, twisting and reaching.
• Professional appearance and commitment to company safety and service standards.

Required skills

• Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Meat carving for buffet service.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning, weighing and mixing.
• Food safety, sanitation and quality monitoring.
• Plate and platter presentation for banquet settings.
