About the role
BQ Solutions, together with Barzan Holdings, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic opportunities in the defence, security, and government sectors. The role will lead the end‑to‑end capture process, from early market engagement to contract award, ensuring proposals are commercially sound and operationally feasible.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted business development strategies for priority sectors and clients.
- Maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities from identification through award.
- Lead capture planning, win‑strategy development, and opportunity shaping activities.
- Coordinate high‑quality bids and proposals across multidisciplinary teams.
- Support pricing, commercial evaluation, and financial viability assessments.
- Build and sustain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic positioning.
- Produce pipeline reports, bid tracking, and performance insights for leadership review.
- Ensure alignment between business development initiatives and delivery capability.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in business development, bids, capture, or commercial roles.
- Strong understanding of structured procurement and tender environments.
- Proven track record of contributing to successful bids and opportunity conversion.
- Commercial and financial awareness, including pricing, margin, and risk considerations.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
- Professional qualifications such as APMP or CIPS are desirable.
