Business Systems Manager

About the role

The Business Systems Manager will act as the primary liaison between IT and the assigned Business Division, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business growth plans and operational needs. This role oversees a large, critical IT work program, driving delivery, risk management, and cost‑effectiveness across multiple projects and services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and obtain agreement on the technology strategy for the assigned line of business.
• Manage relationships with outsourced and hosted IT service providers to ensure service‑level compliance.
• Monitor the 3‑5‑year IT strategy implementation, focusing on functionality, technology, cost, and future application roadmap.
• Establish measurable program objectives and reprioritize when conflicts arise.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative reviews of IT service delivery with business units.
• Ensure all projects and systems adhere to the IT governance framework and reporting standards.
• Develop business cases and cost models, overseeing budget alignment and financial tracking.
• Coordinate program governance structures such as steering committees and working groups.
• Consolidate and prioritize risks across projects, focusing resources on high‑impact items.
• Provide regular KPI updates and status reports to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale IT programs within a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of IT governance, service‑level management, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to translate business objectives into actionable technology roadmaps.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
