Clearing and Posting Officer

About the role

The Clearing and Posting Officer is responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of cheque clearing and financial postings at Commercial Bank. The role ensures accuracy, timeliness and compliance with Qatar Central Bank cut‑off times while supporting system enhancements and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Process inward and outward clearing cheques within QCB cut‑off times.
• Verify scanned outward cheques, onus cheques, new PDC bookings, safekeeping charges and cancellations.
• Reconcile outward clearing balances between PS‑ECC and the Equation suspense account daily.
• Authorize WPS & non‑WPS payrolls and transaction vouchers from internal departments.
• Prepare daily to yearly MIS reports for clearing and posting activities.
• Monitor staff productivity, propose process improvements and manage SLA compliance.
• Lead internal service delivery to credit, risk and branch teams and handle occasional external customer contacts.
• Support team members through KPI tracking, training plans and performance feedback.
• Close audit observations and operational risk items within agreed timeframes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of cheque clearing, financial posting and banking operations.
• Experience with QCB cut‑off requirements and payroll authorization.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and produce accurate MIS reports.
• Leadership skills to engage team members in system enhancements and UATs.
• Attention to detail and commitment to meeting SLA and TAT targets.
• Good communication with internal departments and occasional external customers.

Required skills

• ECC system (including PS‑ECC) proficiency.
• Equation banking system familiarity.
• Experience with MIS reporting tools.
• UAT participation for system enhancements.
