Commissioning Coordinator – Electrical

About the role

The Commissioning Coordinator (Electrical) will lead pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for offshore oil and gas facilities based in Qatar. Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, you will act as the main liaison between contractors, client representatives and internal teams to ensure safe, on‑schedule delivery of electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for supervision of all pre‑commissioning and commissioning works executed by contractors and their sub‑contractors at offshore locations.
• Prepare and manage electronic PTW (e‑PTW) permits, ensuring compliance with all safety and procedural requirements.
• Attend daily coordination meetings with asset holders, report progress, and highlight constraints.
• Liaise with HSEQ personnel to verify that construction, installation and commissioning follow approved procedures.
• Coordinate personnel and material movements with contractor representatives according to the agreed schedule.
• Review and approve contractor pre‑commissioning and commissioning plans, schedules, procedures and JSA documents.
• Monitor activities against approved procedures, AFC drawings and punch‑list items, and inspect work for mechanical completion.
• Provide daily progress reports to the Head of Commissioning, Logistics and the Project Team.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in an engineering discipline relevant to electrical systems.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in pre‑commissioning and commissioning within the oil & gas sector.
• Proven exposure to commissioning databases, operational readiness software and project specifications.
• Understanding of commissioning across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and telecom disciplines.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and commissioning‑management capabilities.
