Contracts Division Manager

About the role

The Contracts Division Manager leads the contracts strategy for onshore capital projects, overseeing the full contract lifecycle from tendering to close‑out. This senior position provides technical, commercial and functional leadership to ensure robust contract management practices that protect the organisation’s commercial interests and optimise project performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all project contracting activities, including ITT issuance, EPC contract execution and services administration.
• Oversee development of ITT packages and manage the end‑to‑end tendering process to ensure commercial integrity and compliance.
• Establish contract strategies, govern EPC documentation, and ensure balanced risk allocation.
• Assess technical and commercial submissions, advising senior management on contractual acceptability and award recommendations.
• Manage the full contract administration process, including change management, payment certification, claims resolution and final close‑out.
• Lead negotiations on contractor‑initiated changes and commercial adjustments to protect cost and schedule.
• Handle complex contractual disputes and prepare formal commercial correspondence.
• Proactively monitor and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop organisational capability in contract management and related processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading contract management for large, complex capital projects.
• Strong ability to anticipate commercial and contractual risks early.
• Demonstrated leadership in coordinating legal, commercial and project stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills with a focus on protecting commercial interests.
• Experience in developing and implementing contract management procedures aligned with strategic objectives.
