Contracts Engineer – EPC Oil & Gas

About the role

The Contracts Engineer will support the DOPET management and project teams by preparing, reviewing, and administering contracts, sub‑contracts and supplier agreements for EPC and oil‑&‑gas projects. The role involves handling major change orders, claims, and negotiations to ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate and finalize contracts, change orders and variations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review, respond to and negotiate claims and change‑order requests received from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Extract critical terms from extensive contract documents and create concise clause summaries for reference.
• Monitor compliance of subcontractors and suppliers with contractual terms and conditions.
• Administer daily contractual requirements, reporting claim and variation progress, and manage breach of contract situations.
• Conduct risk assessments at various project stages and propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, security and environmental regulations across all contract activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience as a Contracts Engineer or in a similar contractual role within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of contract law, risk management principles and EPC contract structures.
• Excellent negotiation abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
