Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Cost Control Engineer will implement cost control procedures and analyse project costs to ensure they align with budgets. You will provide reliable forecasts, support decision‑making and help keep projects financially on track.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project cost control plans and budgets.
• Track actual costs versus budget, analyse variances and identify trends.
• Develop cost forecasts and cash‑flow projections, highlighting deviations.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate cost data and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in the development of cost control procedures and templates.
• Manage cost coding and allocate costs to work‑breakdown structures.
• Monitor CPI, SPI, CV and SV metrics to assess project performance.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier costs.
• Assist with change management by assessing cost impacts of changes.
• Conduct cost‑risk analyses and maintain contingency allocations.
• Provide training to junior cost engineers and contribute to system development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of cost control experience, preferably in construction, road or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work across multiple project teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cost control software and forecasting techniques.
• Experience using JD Edwards ERP system.
