Cutting Machine Operator (Textile Manufacturing)

About the role

The Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining cutting equipment in a textile manufacturing environment. The role ensures that raw material is cut accurately, efficiently, and safely to meet daily production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and run cutting machines such as laser, plasma, CNC, die‑cutting, and blade cutters according to work orders and technical drawings.
• Interpret blueprints and cutting layouts to achieve precise dimensions and optimal material usage.
• Adjust machine parameters (speed, blade type, tension, depth) to meet quality standards.
• Perform pre‑operation checks, routine cleaning, lubrication, and replace worn tools.
• Monitor the cutting process, inspect output for defects, and log production data.
• Ensure correct material type, thickness, and quality are used.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures, including PPE usage.
• Collaborate with warehouse and QA teams for material handling and quality verification.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce waste and downtime.

Required profile

• High school diploma or vocational certificate related to manufacturing.
• Minimum 24 months of experience operating cutting machinery in an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
