Deputy Project Director – PMCM

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Deputy Project Director to support the delivery of complex airport development and operational projects in Doha, Qatar. Reporting to the Project Director, you will help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Director in planning, organizing and executing airport projects of varying scope.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and resource allocation to optimise performance and cost control.
• Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, consultants and internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor progress against timelines, identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards and organisational policies.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports, status updates and performance metrics to senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor and foster a collaborative environment for project team members.
• Handle escalations and resolve conflicts between stakeholders professionally.
• Analyse project data to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of project management experience, including at least 10 years in a senior or deputy director capacity.
• Proven experience managing airport development, cargo expansion or operational projects.
• Strong knowledge of airport operations, aviation industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in budget management, financial forecasting and cost control.
