Diesel Mechanic

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines that power mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps. The role is critical to ensuring equipment runs safely, reliably, and efficiently in oil and gas or petrochemical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls of diesel engines.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults on diesel‑driven mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to company procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Test equipment after repairs to confirm optimal performance and reliability.
• Replace defective components and execute engine rebuilds as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Support emergency breakdown maintenance when needed.
• Keep the work area clean and organized, using tools and equipment properly.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate or Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience overhauling diesel engines, mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, overhaul procedures, and maintenance practices.
