Dimensional Control Engineer

About the role

The Dimensional Control Engineer will supervise and manage dimensional survey activities for structural assemblies and piping spools, ensuring all components meet specified dimensions and tolerances. The role focuses on delivering accurate measurements across fabrication, marine, and installation interfaces while supporting fit‑up, alignment, and weld inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement dimensional survey programs in line with project specifications and schedules.
• Review project drawings and models to create a comprehensive Dimensional Control/Measurement Plan.
• Execute surveying and dimensional verification for fabrication, assembly, and installation phases, evaluating best‑fit alignment scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with the Dimensional Control Inspection & Test Plan (DC ITP) and update it for design changes.
• Validate and approve dimensional control reports and maintain traceable records of all inspections.
• Manage survey requests, ensure calibrated equipment (Leica, SOKKIA, Topcon) is used, and coordinate with client representatives and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Supervise and mentor senior dimensional controllers, promoting teamwork and safety.

Required profile

• Proven experience in dimensional control, surveying, or related engineering fields.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, marine, structural, and piping interfaces.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, models, and specifications.
• Commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing standards.
