Direct Tax Compliance Risk Expert

About the role

The Direct Tax Compliance Risk Expert leads the analysis of compliance risks related to direct taxes. Using data‑driven and sector‑based methodologies, the role identifies potential non‑compliance, estimates tax gaps, and supports the design of targeted audit and enforcement actions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse direct‑tax compliance risks with statistical models, behavioural studies and sector‑specific analytics to uncover non‑compliance patterns.
• Assess international tax risks, including treaty abuse, transfer‑pricing issues and cross‑border structures.
• Estimate tax gaps and evaluate their financial impact across taxpayer categories and sectors.
• Prepare periodic risk reports, summarising findings, methodologies and financial implications.
• Develop risk‑based taxpayer selection lists for audits, providing rationale and expected outcomes.
• Collaborate with IT to design and improve analytical tools and risk‑assessment models.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and other government bodies, and contribute to international forums on tax compliance risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Accounting or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Strong analytical background with experience in tax compliance, risk assessment or related domains.
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Required skills

• Statistical modelling and data analysis.

• Understanding of direct‑tax legislation, international tax treaties and transfer‑pricing principles.
