DP Mathematics Teacher – Applications & Interpretation

About the role

Etqan Global Academy in Doha is seeking an enthusiastic DP Mathematics Teacher to deliver the IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation course at Standard Level and/or Higher Level. The role involves inspiring students to use mathematics as a tool for real‑world problem solving while upholding the school’s values‑driven ethos.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons aligned with IB curriculum and examination requirements.
• Develop students' mathematical thinking, modelling, statistical literacy, and effective use of technology.
• Manage the Internal Assessment (Mathematical Exploration) process, providing guidance, support, and feedback.
• Prepare students for IB external examinations through data‑informed teaching strategies.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with additional needs or EAL.
• Teach MYP Mathematics where timetabled, maintaining high standards and inquiry‑based approaches.
• Contribute actively to the Mathematics department and the wider school community.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience teaching IB DP Mathematics, preferably the Applications and Interpretation pathway.
• Strong knowledge of IB DP assessment, internal assessment processes, and exam preparation.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and differentiation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
• Ability to meet visa requirements for working in Qatar.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Graphing Display Calculators (GDC) and mathematical software.
