Engineering Technician – HVAC

About the role

The Engineering Technician – HVAC will ensure the reliable operation of all heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning systems within a luxury hotel environment. You will play a key part in maintaining guest comfort while supporting energy‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all HVAC equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation/exhaust systems, window A/C units and package units.
• Record daily log readings for cold rooms and refrigeration units, verifying proper functionality.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Prepare and manage spare‑parts lists for HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant rooms, workshops and related areas.
• Ensure compliance with safety, first‑aid and fire‑emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues, guests, contractors and other hotel departments.
• Assist in preparing the annual POMEC budget and monitor related costs.
• Report incidents or accidents according to hotel policies and recommend procedural improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in HVAC or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in a luxury hotel setting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs).
• Experience with ventilation/exhaust systems, window air‑conditioners and package units.
• Ability to monitor and log cold‑room and refrigeration unit performance.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
• Spare‑parts inventory management for HVAC and refrigeration.
• Plant‑room housekeeping and organization.
• Understanding of safety, first‑aid and fire‑emergency protocols.
