Fleet Manager

About the role

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical performance and safety of the company’s vessel fleet. This role ensures effective communication with internal crews and external partners to maintain optimal vessel utilization and compliance with certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong internal communication with vessel crews and the Fleet & Technical Department to guarantee proper maintenance and maximum utilization.
• Coordinate and follow‑up on major operational issues related to fleet technical functions and activities.
• Manage external communication with contractors and third‑party certification bodies, ensuring projects and audits are tracked and completed.
• Oversee occupational health, safety, and environmental standards, providing information, training, and safe systems of work.
• Conduct risk assessments, verify competence of employees and contractors, and ensure incident reporting and investigation.
• Exercise authority to stop work when health and safety conditions are unsafe.

Required profile

• Accountable to line manager and direct reports for maintaining a safe workplace.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for the safety of all personnel under their authority.
• Proactive in promoting safe behaviours and setting a personal example in health‑and‑safety matters.
