General Mechanic

About the role

The General Mechanic supports Hilton properties by ensuring all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards. Working closely with the engineering team, you will respond quickly to maintenance requests and help keep the hotel operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Maintain a shift log documenting all activities and incidents.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and complete required paperwork.
• Attend emergency calls for leaks, fire, power outages, etc.
• Follow instructions from the Assistant Director of Engineering or Duty Foreman.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment as needed.
• Ensure work areas are clean and protected.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned and adapt to changing operational needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel, ship, hospital, or similar environment.
• Mechanic trade qualification.
• Current knowledge of general maintenance, engineering work, and guest‑room repairs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within established timeframes.
• Strong work ethic and passion for managing multiple projects.
