Machinist

About the role

Element is seeking a skilled Machinist to join its expanding operations team. The role involves preparing specimens for testing and performing a range of machining tasks in accordance with customer specifications, under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cutting equipment to prepare specimens as dictated by customer specifications.
• Design, set‑up and execute machining assignments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Mentor and train less‑experienced machinists, communicating processes and technical data effectively.
• Maintain equipment, schedule preventative maintenance and record dimensions per quality‑assurance standards.
• Adhere to laboratory safety rules, company policies and code of conduct.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related testing, science or mechanical field, or equivalent 3‑6 years of machining shop experience.
• Strong understanding of specimen preparation and machining concepts.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry in measurement tasks.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly and stand for long periods.
