Manager, Information Services – Distributed eLibrary

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Manager of Information Services to lead the Distributed eLibrary at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. The role combines oversight of the Reading Room’s daily operations with strategic development of next‑generation library services supporting research, teaching and clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the information services team, conduct performance appraisals and coordinate training and professional development.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Reading Room, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Develop and implement outreach and liaison initiatives across the university and external stakeholders.
• Provide research consultations, teach information‑literacy sessions and support systematic review projects.
• Collaborate with the Library Director and other managers to create, revise and enforce policies, procedures and long‑term departmental plans.
• Monitor service metrics, assess best practices and produce regular reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an ALA‑accredited Library Science program or international equivalent.
• Minimum three years of supervisory or management experience in library information services, preferably within a health‑science environment.
• Demonstrated experience teaching information literacy, evidence‑based practice or related topics.
• Familiarity with systematic reviews, guideline development and data‑management practices.
• Proven ability to lead change initiatives in a fast‑moving academic setting.
