Manager - Vessel Performance & Systems

About the role

The Vessel Performance & Systems Manager works closely with fleet managers, ship officers and technical teams to optimise vessel operations and ensure compliance with maintenance standards. The role involves monitoring the Shipnet application, updating maintenance schedules, and auditing Planned Maintenance System (PMS) compliance across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior managers, superintendents, fleet managers and ship officers to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and adjust the Shipnet application and maintenance schedules in consultation with relevant managers.
• Audit vessel PMS compliance, initiate corrective actions and provide technical input for system change requests.
• Evaluate contracted bulk spares, stores and services in partnership with the procurement department.
• Manage external communications with vendors and service providers for spare parts, logistics and IT services.
• Conduct risk assessments, ensure safe systems of work and promote occupational health and safety within the department.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ship management, vessel performance monitoring or maritime technical operations.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning and compliance auditing.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
• Responsibility for health, safety and environmental standards in a maritime setting.
