MEP Manager – Major Building Construction Project

About the role

The Leading Main Contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to oversee all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV and specialist systems on a major building construction project in Qatar. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising MEP works through nominated subcontractors while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, programme, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the contractor’s focal point for all MEP‑related technical and construction matters.
• Supervise MEP subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, quality standards and schedule.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, material and sample submittals, method statements, TQs, RFIs and testing & commissioning procedures.
• Ensure technical submissions are coordinated with architectural, structural, civil and other specialist disciplines.
• Monitor and expedite consultant and client approvals to avoid delays.
• Coordinate procurement of long‑lead MEP equipment and materials.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and BIM clash detection activities.
• Monitor installation progress, resolve technical and interface issues, and oversee testing, commissioning and handover.
• Support the commercial team with technical evaluations, variation orders and subcontract administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 15–20 years of experience in building construction projects.
• Minimum 10 years managing MEP works for major main contractors.
• Proven experience leading MEP subcontractors and delivering complex projects.
