Munitions Technician

About the role

The Munitions Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining U.S. Air Force munitions and related equipment. The role includes operating the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) and may involve supervising an Other Country National workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce all USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during operations.
• Conduct munitions work according to quality processes, identify problems and recommend solutions.
• Recondition, repair and replace defective or missing parts of munitions and containers.
• Perform munitions storage actions in compliance with stringent explosives standards.
• Conduct warehouse inventories, resolve discrepancies and support serviceability issues.
• Prepare and configure munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transportation, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Inspect munitions and containers according to technical orders (e.g., 11A‑1‑10, 11A‑1‑60).
• Operate and maintain light vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists and other handling equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal USAF Munitions Systems training or US service equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of USAF Supply and Tech Order systems (or equivalent).
• Valid home‑country driver’s license and ability to obtain a host‑nation license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required).
• Physical capability to lift, push or pull at least 50 lb and wear required PPE.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) on Windows OS.
• Operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hoists.
• Knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems.
• Training in Munitions Systems inspection and maintenance.
• Eligibility for Secret clearance and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
