MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English)

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is recruiting a passionate MYP Language & Literature Teacher (English) to join Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will inspire students to become confident readers, writers and communicators within the IB Middle Years Programme framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality, concept‑driven Language & Literature lessons aligned with the IB MYP curriculum and global contexts.
• Design engaging, inquiry‑based learning experiences that develop reading, writing, critical thinking and communication skills.
• Assess student work using MYP Language & Literature criteria and provide constructive feedback.
• Create units of inquiry that explore language, literature, global contexts and intercultural perspectives.
• Embed ATL skills and foster a love of reading throughout teaching.
• Support students in preparation for MYP eAssessment in Language & Literature.
• Undertake Form Tutor duties and contribute to the pastoral life of the school.
• Participate actively in the English department and the wider school community.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent) and a degree in English, Language & Literature or a related subject.
• Proven experience teaching Language & Literature or English in an IB MYP school.
• Strong knowledge of the MYP Language & Literature curriculum, assessment criteria and eAssessment.
• Excellent literacy skills and a genuine passion for language and literature.
• Effective classroom management and communication abilities.
• A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Required skills

• IB MYP workshop training in Language & Literature (desirable).
• Experience in international school environments (desirable).
