Planning Engineer – Project Scheduling

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join our project team in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role focuses on developing, updating and controlling project schedules for large‑scale construction programmes, ensuring accurate progress reporting and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance.
• Prepare progress reports, delay analysis and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of activities.
• Identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support project management with planning, resource allocation and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project milestones and contractual obligations.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders on planning and scheduling matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of planning and scheduling experience on large‑scale building construction projects.
• Proven experience in residential, accommodation, mixed‑use, institutional or similar developments.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects of comparable scale and complexity.
• Previous experience in Qatar preferred; GCC experience also considered.
• MMUP/UPDA registration preferred for candidates in Qatar and mandatory where applicable.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls and scheduling principles.
• Familiarity with Qatar Energy requirements, major clients, consultants and local authority regulations is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong leadership, coordination, problem‑solving and stakeholder management abilities.
