Planning Manager

About the role

The Planning Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting across the company's construction programmes. Working closely with project and construction managers, consultants, contractors and senior leadership, the role ensures that schedules are accurate, risks are identified early and projects are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain detailed project programmes, master schedules and baseline schedules for multiple projects.
• Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestones, activity sequencing and dependencies.
• Monitor progress against approved baselines, identify delays, critical activities and schedule risks.
• Perform critical path analysis and assess the impact of changes on completion dates.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, look‑ahead schedules and management reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, commercial teams, consultants and contractors to obtain accurate progress information.
• Review contractors’ manpower, equipment and resource requirements against planned activities.
• Recommend corrective actions, recovery measures and support extension of time (EOT) submissions.
• Support delay analysis, claims assessment and schedule‑related contractual matters.
• Maintain accurate planning records, schedule updates and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in project planning, scheduling and project controls.
• At least 5 years of experience leading planning activities on large construction projects.
