Process Engineer – Qatar

About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support and improve our plant operations in Qatar. The role focuses on delivering engineering designs for plant revamps, enhancing long‑term efficiency, productivity, and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support for assigned operations, delivering design for plant revamps.
• Conduct feasibility studies for debottlenecking, prepare economic comparisons, cost estimates, and engineering calculations.
• Assist consultants, contractors, and internal teams in scoping, defining, and planning projects.
• Lead contractor teams to meet unit objectives while adhering to HSE and quality standards.
• Update all process documentation (PID, PFD, material balances, data sheets) for modifications.
• Prepare process data sheets and schemes to justify capital expenditures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of process engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas.
• Proven ability to work with major process engineering and control standards.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulatory guides, codes, and safety practices.
• Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and mentoring capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ethylene cracker operations.
• Advanced Process Control (APC) expertise.
• Proficiency with process simulation and heat/material balance software.
• Experience using SAP for management information systems.
• Project management competence.
• Downtime analysis and problem‑solving tools.
• Understanding of production processes, quality assurance, and health & safety.
• Familiarity with preventative/predictive maintenance techniques.
