Road Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

About the role

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Road Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar, supporting the client’s Roads Operation and Maintenance Division.

Key responsibilities

• Understand road operation and maintenance activities, scope, tasks and targets.
• Manage and oversee operation and maintenance of road assets, including asphalt works, street lighting, safety barriers, traffic signs, highway structures, HVAC systems and passenger lifts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, management consultants and contractors to execute road network O&M activities.
• Plan and program the operation and maintenance of road assets across the network.
• Administer, prioritize and supervise O&M works and maintenance crews.
• Conduct supervisory and inspection activities to ensure contract compliance.
• Review tender documents, develop scopes of work and prepare cost estimates for maintenance contracts.
• Monitor contractor performance against SLAs and support commercial and risk matters related to maintenance contracts.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience in road networks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing contractors and leading teams.
• Knowledge and experience in operation and maintenance of road assets.
• Valid Qatar driving licence is an advantage; Arabic communication skills are preferred.
