Security Operations Officer (Data Security)

About the role

This senior position is responsible for designing, implementing and operating enterprise‑wide data protection capabilities across on‑premises, cloud and emerging AI environments. The role safeguards sensitive information through encryption, data loss prevention, privacy engineering, monitoring and governance while ensuring compliance with recognised security and privacy frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy data protection controls, including DLP, encryption and information protection technologies, across on‑prem and cloud platforms.
• Enforce data classification, encryption and access‑control policies and translate regulatory requirements into technical controls.
• Implement privacy‑enhancing technologies such as masking, tokenisation and anonymisation, and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Secure AI and machine‑learning platforms by applying appropriate access controls, monitoring and data‑protection mechanisms.
• Manage enterprise encryption solutions, key‑management infrastructure and support investigations of data leakage or unauthorised access.
• Provide segmentation and secure data movement between critical systems, and support security monitoring and incident response.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years focused on data security, information protection or privacy engineering.
• Experience in highly regulated or critical‑infrastructure environments.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, privacy or data‑protection, cloud security or AI security certifications are preferred.
