Senior Counsel – Liquids, Dry Products & Gas Marketing

About the role

The Senior Counsel will provide legal support for QatarEnergy's marketing activities involving liquids, dry products and gas. This role covers the negotiation, administration and dispute management of related agreements across all QatarEnergy entities and the Ventures & Business Development division.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to crude oil, petroleum products, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers, helium, natural gas and derived products.
• Administer existing agreements and monitor compliance.
• Manage claims, disputes and liaise with regulators and government representatives.
• Provide practical legal advice to non‑lawyers on complex marketing transactions.
• Support business development projects that involve marketing of liquids, dry products and gas.

Required profile

• JD/LLB (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
• 10+ years of experience in private practice or in‑house, with substantial exposure to liquids, dry products and gas marketing activities.
• Strong legal drafting abilities and experience dealing with regulators.
• Excellent written and spoken English and effective communication skills.
• Highly motivated, proactive, organized and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
