Senior Data Quality Analyst

About the role

The Senior Data Quality Analyst is a hands‑on expert responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and reliability of enterprise data. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business rules into testable data conditions and deliver actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced data profiling and quality analysis across databases, data warehouses, data lakes and reporting extracts.
• Investigate data anomalies, trends, outliers and recurring issue patterns using business context and system knowledge.
• Interpret data quality issues by reviewing source data, transformation logic, business rules and process behavior.
• Prepare analytical evidence, data samples, exception lists and issue summaries for stakeholder review.
• Support the definition, refinement and validation of data quality rules, thresholds and scorecards.
• Review outputs from junior analysts, ensuring accuracy, completeness and clarity.
• Maintain documentation such as issue registers, rule documentation and evidence packs.
• Assist in testing, retesting and defect investigation where data validation is required.

Required profile

• Advanced hands‑on experience with SQL and data querying.
• Strong practical understanding of data quality dimensions (completeness, validity, consistency, uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, timeliness, conformity).
• Ability to interpret business rules and convert them into testable data conditions.
• Excellent documentation skills and the ability to explain technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of data governance, metadata, ownership and stewardship concepts.
