Senior Electrical Engineer – Facilities & Utilities

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide specialist technical support to the department’s divisions responsible for major facilities such as common cooling water systems, desalinated and potable water networks, waste‑management plants, treated‑water distribution and other utilities. The role includes establishing engineering standards and technical guidelines, integrating the latest process, safety and environmental technologies, and troubleshooting complex technical issues using fundamental engineering principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering standards and technical guidelines for all department facilities and RLC projects.
• Provide technical expertise for design, start‑up, commissioning and troubleshooting of water, waste‑management and related utility systems.
• Lead technical investigations and research to resolve operational problems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise senior technical staff on major projects.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil, gas, petrochemical or large‑scale utilities sector.
• Minimum 5‑8 years in a senior supervisory role on major projects, covering design, start‑up, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Proven leadership and motivational skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering principles applied to large‑scale utility systems.
• Use of technical simulation software and other engineering analysis tools.
