Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical engineering activities on large‑scale Oil & Gas/EPC projects in Qatar. The role involves overseeing design, installation, and commissioning while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all mechanical engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Monitor project progress, schedules and budgets, reporting deviations.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and client stakeholders.
• Supervise site installation, construction and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, quality standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering issues on‑site.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare regular reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, petrochemical or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping systems and construction practices.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASME, API and ASTM.
• Proven experience in project planning, execution and commissioning.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
• Prior experience working in the GCC region is preferred.
