Senior Project Control Engineer – Major Projects

About the role

The Senior Project Control Engineer will lead project control activities for major EPCC projects, supporting the Project Control Manager and collaborating closely with all project team members. This role ensures that schedules, cost estimates, and performance metrics are aligned with contract requirements and project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and hand‑over phases.
• Oversee contractor performance on critical‑path analysis, float management, and schedule optimisation.
• Monitor progress against baseline and forecast schedules, identify delays and propose recovery plans.
• Track and report physical progress, earned‑value data, and schedule performance indicators.
• Prepare steering‑committee presentations highlighting risks, achievements and deviations.
• Ensure resource histograms, manpower plans and productivity tracking are up‑to‑date.
• Provide input for budget planning, cash‑flow projections and cost‑control strategies.
• Support claim, variation and extension‑of‑time assessments.
• Develop and maintain the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) linked to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Analyse cost variances, recommend corrective actions and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics such as CPI and TCPI.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in project control within EPCC environments.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Strong understanding of EPCC contract requirements and project procedures.
• Experience preparing high‑level project reports and presentations for senior management.
